Kargil Vijay Diwas  'July 26'

Every year, July 26 is observed as Kargil Vijay Diwas in all over India. 

On July 26, 1999; India won victory over Pakistan in Kargil War. 

Indian Army and Air Force played key role in this war.

Started on May 3, 1991 and concluded on July 26, 1991 

Indian Army launched ‘Operation Vijay’ in Kargil War to get victory. 

Total 527 Indian soldiers were martyred in Kargil War. 

Captain Vikram Batra was honored with ‘PARAMVIR CHAKRA’ after death for his bravery. 

‘SHERSHAH’ is the code of Vikram Batra, which is very famous. 

Lt. Manoj Panday was also honored with ‘PARAMVIR CHAKRA’ after death for his bravery. 

Major Padmani Acharya and Captain Anuj Iyar are honored with ‘MAHAVEER CHAKRA’ after death for their bravery.
